Social Events in and out of the Lodge 2017

08 January 2017 - Senior Members dinner at 4.00 pm. A good time had by those in attendance.

21 January 2017 - Annual Burns Supper at 7.00 pm. A very successful evening was had once again.

25 February 2017 - Cabaret evening featuring Pat Cairns in tribute to Kenny Rogers and Neil Diamond . This is a fundraiser for the 125th Anniversary Fund (2025). Attendance down but still a good fundraiser for the Lodge.

05 March 2017 - Provincial Grand Lodge Divine Service, The Allan Church, Bannockburn at 2.00 pm. A fair turnout particularly of visitors from other Provinces. The church received a decent financial donation from the collection.

15 April 2017 - Cabaret evening featuring Johnny Lee Memphis as "Elvis" tribute act. An enjoyable evening once again.

28 April 2017 - Reigning Master Degree held in Lodge Camelon No. 1456. £400.00 was donated to both Crohns and Collitis Unit at Forth Valley Hospital and to the Alzeimers Association.

06 May 2017 - Fundraising Dance by Provincial Grand Lodge in the Park Hotel, Falkirk at 7.00 pm. Some 116 brethren partners and friends enjoyed a fine meal and dancing to "Distant Sun".

14 May 2017 - Provincial Grand Lodge Charity Golf at Schawpark Golf Course Sauchie 8.00 am. Numbers were down but the weather was kind and the day successful. Decent donations to two nominated Charities will be made later as a result of sponsorship etc.

21 May 2017 - Stirling and District Masonic Bowling Association Christison Trophy, Stirling 2.00 pm. Six Lodges entered two teams of triples. Lodge Dolphin narrowly beat Lodge Bannockburn Bruce and Thistle No. 312 to retain the trophy. Both Lodges scored four points. The teams were Bros. D. Walker, John Muir, Derek Wright and Sandy Thomson, Michael Grover, James Armour. Five hundred pounds was distributed to each of five Charities by the Association.

28 May 2017 - Provincial Grand Lodge Fundraising Five-a-side Tournament, Grangemouth 9.00 am. Brilliant day with sixteen teams taking part from Lodges in the Province plus Linlithgowshire and Mid-Lothian. Lodge Slamannan No. 484 ran out winners defeating Lodge Dolphin No. 911 in the final. Well done to the young members of Lodge Dolphin. The sum of £1,100.00 was raised to be split with Maggies Cancer Centre, Larbert (£600.00) and The Provincial Grand Lodge 275th Anniversary Fund (£500.00). Thanks are due to the Sponsors, Organisers, Host Lodge (Zetland No. 391) and all who took part - a magnificent effort.

03 June 2017 - Provincial Grand Lodge Charity Fishing Competition on Carron Valley Reservoir, Denny 9.00 am. Fourteen boats with two fishermen in each took to the water and endured sun, rain, hale stones, thunder and lightning during the day. But, they stuck steadfastly to their task. Two brethren from Lodge Carron No. 139 won the prize for the biggest combined catch while one of the brethren also caught the largest fish. Lodge Ben Cleuch No. 782 were runners-up. The final amount raised by the fishermen was £1,400.00 and was donated to Strathcarron Hospice, Denny.

13 August 2017 - Provincial Grand Lodge Charity Bowling Competition, Bonnybridge Bowling Club 9.00 am. This was a well organised event hosted by Lodge Dolphin in fine weather. A team from Lodge Dolphin No. 911 as it happens ran out winners defeating a team from Lodge Craiginnan Dollar No. 850 in the final. Teams from Lodge Callendar No. 588 and Lodge St. Servanus No. 771 were losing semi-finalists. All monies raised will be donated to local Charities - Driving Force Bonnybridge, Bonnybridge Gala Committee, Bonnybridge Youth Football Club and Greenhill and Bonnybridge Historical Society. Each Charity received £500.00.

08 October 2017 - Provincial Grand Lodge Fundraising Abseil from the Millennium Wheel, Falkirk takes place at 9.30am for 10.00am.
